Mechanical Site Engineer
Oil & Gas Fabrication Yard, Qatar
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Site Engineer to oversee fabrication and erection activities for offshore structures and piping systems. The role involves coordinating daily site operations, managing manpower and resources, and ensuring all works are executed safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise fabrication and erection of jackets, piles, boat landings, riser guards, J-tubes, topsides, modules, bridges, and flares.
- Oversee piping spool fabrication, pipe supports, and brownfield modifications such as deck extensions and module additions.
- Plan and allocate work according to project schedules and priorities.
- Coordinate with engineering, QC, painting, and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Monitor project progress and maintain high productivity levels while meeting safety and quality requirements.
- Ensure adequate manpower, materials, and equipment are available for all tasks.
- Support load-out activities and maintain accurate progress reporting.
- Promote HSE compliance and implement quality control procedures at site.
- Liaise with engineering offices to ensure technical deliverables align with site requirements.
- Foster teamwork and provide guidance to supervisors and foremen to maintain consistent performance.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5-10 years of experience in oil and gas fabrication, preferably with offshore structures such as jackets, topsides, decks, bridges, and piping systems.
- Strong understanding of HSE and quality procedures in fabrication environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; comfortable with email communication and reporting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
