Overview:
Join a cutting-edge industrial transformation project as a Lead Piping Engineer with a pioneering company driving the global transition to sustainable steel. This Green Steel Production Company is building one of the world’s first hydrogen-powered steel plants in Northern Sweden — a facility that will reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 95% compared to conventional steelmaking.
In this critical role, you will lead piping and layout engineering for the Hydrogen Manufacturing Plant (HMP), ensuring top-tier design delivery through collaboration with EPCm and OEM partners. You will report to the Engineering Manager and act as the primary representative for all piping and layout discipline matters.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and own piping engineering and layout delivery for the Hydrogen Manufacturing Plant.

Serve as the single point of contact for the Piping & Layout discipline, ensuring engineering assurance and technical integrity.

Coordinate and manage EPCm and OEM partners to meet project schedule, cost, and quality goals.

Review and verify design documentation from partners, suppliers, and technology providers.

Participate in 3D model and constructability reviews, ensuring practical, safe, and cost-efficient designs.

Work onsite full-time at the client’s offices in Stockholm, Boden, or The Hague, collaborating directly with multidisciplinary teams.

Support documentation and control systems (e.g., ACC, Omega) and ensure traceability and compliance.
Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum of 8 years of experience in piping engineering, particularly in large capital projects within hydrogen, oil & gas, or related industries.

In-depth understanding of piping design codes: EN 13480, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.12, and the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED).

Practical knowledge of industrial-scale piping installations and layout workflows in EPCm environments.

Familiarity with Swedish AFS standards is a strong plus.

Competency in piping design, materials selection, layout, and stress analysis (broad understanding required; specialization not mandatory).

Experience managing third-party engineering teams and coordinating across diverse project interfaces.

Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities, with experience running technical meetings.

Collaborative team player capable of navigating complex multi-stakeholder environments.
