Kintec are currently partnered with a leading multinational materials technology company . They are currently recruiting for Lead Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer to be based in Olen, Belgium .

Project Description:

As Lead E&I Engineer at the Client in Olen, you are responsible for managing electrical and instrumentation projects from concept to delivery. You act as the discipline lead for E&I within large-scale industrial investment projects (up to €30 million) and work closely with the Project Manager, who holds final responsibility for the project.

This is not a purely design-focused role - we are looking for a Lead Engineer who can provide technical leadership and coordination within multidisciplinary projects.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • You independently lead the electrical and instrumentation (E&I) discipline from A to Z, from feasibility studies through to commissioning and handover.
  • You make technical decisions regarding materials and applications, taking environmental factors into account.
  • You work closely with internal project teams (mechanical, site, design), the Project Manager, and external partners.
  • You interpret and assess electrical diagrams and cable calculations (including in Caneco) and provide solutions where necessary.
  • You ensure compliance with ATEX regulations in all relevant project phases.
  • You support projects related to process installations (for example, battery-related projects such as anode).
  • You work from the transformer level, focusing on low voltage and possessing basic knowledge of high voltage.
  • You prepare technical specifications and tender documents, define and monitor project budgets, and track planning and milestones.
  • You correctly interpret SIL, PL, and Exi calculations to ensure functional safety and compliance.
  • You are willing to travel occasionally within Europe and Asia for project follow-up.

Technical Profile Requirements:

  • Master's or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent through experience.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a leading E&I role within projects in the process industry.
  • Minimum 7 years' experience as an E&I Engineer in the process industry.
  • Very good knowledge of industrial instrumentation (pressure measurement, flow measurement, level measurement, etc.).
  • Experience with project-based work in the process industry.
  • Very good knowledge and practical experience with ATEX guidelines and applications.
  • Ability to interpret electrical diagrams (for example, in EPLAN; self-design is not required).
  • Experience with Caneco for cable calculations and their interpretation.
  • Demonstrable experience in interpreting SIL safety calculations.
  • Basic knowledge of hardware and automation (no programming knowledge required).
