Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced HSE Engineer to join a dynamic team working on a pioneering green steel production plant project in Northern Sweden. The plant will play a significant role in reducing carbon emissions, with the production of green steel emitting up to 95% less CO₂ compared to conventional steel production methods. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a transformative project in the green energy sector.
As the HSE Engineer, you will focus on reviewing the safety aspects of the plant's design, with particular attention to machinery, process, and fire safety. You will ensure that the design meets legislative requirements, industry best practices, and operational safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Review design documentation to ensure safety standards are met.

Coordinate safety topics with the EPCMs and other stakeholders.

Ensure uniform safety design implementation throughout the site.

Conduct risk analyses to identify potential hazards and mitigate risks.

Develop and maintain the project’s safety tool to support ongoing safety management.

Collaborate closely with project teams, operations, EPCMs, OEMs, and other stakeholders to ensure safety is prioritised.

Report to the lead technical safety engineer, ensuring all safety concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
Key Qualifications:

M.Sc. or B.Sc. in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., chemical, mechanical, or fire engineering).

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial projects within the process industry (steel, mining, pulp & paper, oil & gas, etc.).

Proven experience in industrial safety design, with a strong focus on safety studies and risk management.

Good understanding of industrial permitting processes and relevant local safety legislation.

Additional knowledge in functional safety and ATEX would be a valuable asset.
