Fabrication Construction Manager (Mechanical)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Construction Manager (Mechanical) to lead and manage the construction and fabrication of offshore structures and associated systems at a major fabrication yard. The role involves overseeing the full project lifecycle - from planning and resource management through to execution and delivery - while ensuring strict compliance with safety, quality, and schedule requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage fabrication and erection activities across subsea and topside structures, including jackets, piles, boat landings, risers, J-tubes, bridges, flares, and piping systems.
  • Oversee brownfield modifications such as deck extensions and module integrations.
  • Develop and implement detailed construction plans covering scheduling, resourcing, risk assessment, and communication strategies.
  • Supervise project teams and ensure work is executed in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, planning, and subcontractor teams to resolve technical or constructability issues.
  • Monitor project progress and report regularly to management on milestones, performance, and key risks.
  • Ensure manpower, materials, and equipment are adequately allocated to meet project deadlines.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and enforce HSE and quality control procedures on site.
  • Participate in progress meetings with internal teams and external contractors.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and motivation to site personnel to achieve performance excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in offshore oil and gas fabrication, including topside modules, subsea structures, and piping works.
  • Strong understanding of construction planning, HSE, and quality procedures in fabrication environments.Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and general digital communication tools.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
