Overview
A well established construction contractor specialising in roofing, facade restoration and building envelope works is seeking an Estimating Assistant to support its preconstruction and estimating team in New York.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone in the early stages of their estimating or construction career who is looking to gain hands on experience working alongside experienced estimators and project managers. The role offers exposure to a variety of roofing and restoration projects across New York City and provides a strong pathway toward developing into a full Estimator role.
Key Responsibilities

Assist the estimating team in reviewing architectural and structural drawings

Perform quantity take offs and support the preparation of cost estimates for construction and restoration projects

Support bid preparation, documentation and proposal submissions

Coordinate with project managers, engineers and subcontractors to clarify project scope and requirements

Organise project documents, drawings and bid packages

Review plans to help identify potential scope gaps or inconsistencies prior to bid submission

Support preconstruction activities across multiple projects simultaneously

Maintain organised records of estimating documents and correspondence
Requirements

1 to 3 years of experience in construction estimating, estimating support or project administration

Exposure to roofing, facade restoration, waterproofing, scaffolding or similar construction trades is preferred

Ability to review construction drawings and technical specifications

Familiarity with quantity take off tools or digital drawing review software is beneficial

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams
