Job Overview:

We are seeking an EPC Document Control Manager to oversee document management processes for EPC oil and gas projects in Kazakhstan. This role ensures that all engineering, procurement, and construction documents are properly controlled, stored, and distributed in compliance with industry standards and project requirements. The manager works closely with project teams, clients, and regulatory authorities to maintain document integrity, version control, and confidentiality throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement document control procedures, ensuring compliance with EPC project requirements and industry best practices.
  • Manage document workflows, version control, and archiving processes to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Ensure timely distribution and retrieval of technical documents, drawings, and project records.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure proper documentation of project activities.
  • Establish document numbering systems and metadata standards for efficient retrieval and tracking.
  • Oversee document audits and quality checks to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage digital document management systems (DMS) and ensure cybersecurity measures are in place to protect sensitive data.
  • Provide training and support to project teams on document control processes and system usage.
  • Lead a team of document controllers, ensuring high performance and adherence to document management standards.
  • Prepare reports on document status, compliance, and areas for process improvement.

     

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years working experience, with at least 3 years in a relevant position.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the GCC is a plus.
  • Proficiency in document management systems such as Aconex, SharePoint, or EDMS.
  • Strong knowledge of EPC project documentation standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience in managing large volumes of project documentation and ensuring data integrity.
  • ERP knowledge, preferably SAP, is a requirement.
