Job Purpose
The role of the E&I CM Planner is to provide detailed job plans for corrective maintenance activities, including work preparation, material requirements, manpower, resources, and appropriate task sequencing to support the efficient scheduling and execution of corrective maintenance work.
The role will provide direct assistance to Senior CM Planners and Area Lead Planners. Primary interfaces include the Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Field Engineer, Technical Authorities, Field Technicians, Operations, Vendors, and Schedulers.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Participate in standard work week meetings, including daily, weekly, and 90-day Look Ahead schedule meetings.
Execute maintenance-related ad hoc requests from the QSGTL Area Lead Planner.
Support the development of comprehensive plans for mechanical rotating, static equipment, and piping works in accordance with safe work practices and HSSE guidelines, including resource allocation and work sequencing.
Support the development of job plans for mechanical works with a cost-driven focus and standardised best practices for float-based scheduling and cost control.
Support the building of job routines and task lists, including detailed work descriptions, required materials, resource requirements, time requirements, and task relationships between required activities.
Apply basic knowledge of plant equipment and systems, including instrumentation, valves, generators, motors, lighting, switchgear, transformers, UPS, battery systems, analyzers, heat tracing, and related site systems.
Support planning activities to include job hazard assessments, setting out risks, and anticipated permit requirements.
Support the planning of end-to-end work orders to enable efficient scheduling and ensure compliance with executable work orders.
Support productivity improvement by ensuring resources, special tools, materials, and service requirements are available before job execution.
Engage with field-based original equipment manufacturers, vendors, and modification planners as required for recommended and repeat pattern work.
Support plans for BOM, tools, and tackles, and manpower requirements for mechanical works, requesting information from vendors and incorporating it into work orders.
Communicate with the site focal point for technical gaps in non-routine scopes.
Involve appropriate stakeholders as part of job planning and ensure their support where required.
Review completed work for learnings after completion and close out project feedback.
Understand key functions of various equipment and instruments, and review engineering drawings including data sheets, P&IDs, PEFS, and PFDs.
Support the identification and resolution of bottlenecks and contribute to improvement initiatives.
Follow up for new RLC creation and new MM creation.
Conduct weekly liaison with QAF for material and services requirements, including follow-up on new purchase orders and high-priority material expediting.
Support follow-up with suppliers for purchase order material delivery to Shell Warehouse, including coordination of shifting of materials from warehouse to site.
Support supervisors and maintenance field engineers with clarification of technical queries related to materials.
Connect with the SBO team for MM amendments, deletion, and creation, and provide quotations to complete new MM creation processes.
Provide coverage for schedulers and PM planners during vacation periods.
Provide lists of materials to inventory analysts for MRP type change from ND/PD to Z1, based on frequent consumption.
Support maintenance KPI reporting and contribute to maintaining zero overdue jobs through timely planning of work orders.
Support analytical and problem-solving activities with a continuous improvement mindset.
Support the Lead Planner, Scheduler, and CM Maintenance Execution team with estimated delivery dates and actual material availability.
Carry out site visits to identify support service and operations support required to complete tasks, and identify any related proactive work that can be completed alongside the activity.
Requirements
Educational and Technical Requirements
ND or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, or standards-based qualification such as NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
Minimum 4 years of planning experience, preferably in plant maintenance and turnaround environments.
Minimum 2 years of hands-on field experience in project or turnaround execution.
Competency with SAP PM/MM or CMMS.
Competency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Knowledge-level competency in Primavera and PM Module would be an added advantage.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English to IELTS 6 equivalent standard.
Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
Must be resilient and able to work in high-pressure environments.
