Overview
We are partnering with a leading industrial organisation delivering innovative low-carbon solutions to recruit a Civil & Structural Engineering Lead. Reporting to the Senior Engineering Project Manager, this role will act as the technical authority for civil, structural, and geotechnical disciplines, ensuring engineering excellence across all project phases.
You will play a key role in design validation, multidisciplinary coordination, and project optimisation, supporting a major industrial programme focused on sustainable production technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering
- Lead and validate civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering activities across all project phases
- Review and challenge third-party engineering deliverables
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, safety, and sustainability requirements
- Support design optimisation, constructability reviews, and technical risk assessments
- Drive effective coordination across engineering disciplines
Construction
- Provide technical support to site and construction teams
- Review construction methodologies and resolve technical issues
- Ensure alignment between construction execution and approved designs
Project Delivery
- Support procurement activities, including technical bid evaluations
- Engage with contractors to ensure alignment with project objectives
- Contribute to project planning, cost optimisation, and execution strategy
Candidate Profile
Education
- Master's degree in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering discipline
Experience
- 10+ years' experience in EPC and/or large-scale industrial projects
- Strong background in:
o Reinforced concrete and steel design
o Structural analysis and foundation engineering
- Experience across concept (FEL), basic and detailed design, and construction phases
- Familiarity with industrial construction environments in Europe is beneficial
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong technical expertise in civil & structural engineering for complex industrial facilities
- Proficiency with industry-standard tools (e.g. structural analysis and modelling software such as Tekla, ANSYS or equivalent)
- Fluent in English (additional European languages advantageous)
- Proactive, collaborative, and solutions-oriented mindset
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
