Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor (E&I) to oversee electrical, instrumentation, telecom and control system construction activities on offshore brownfield projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in supervising EPIC contractors during offshore construction and commissioning phases, ensuring safety, quality and schedule adherence across multiple offshore fields and facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Client Representative onboard offshore facilities and contractor marine spreads during E&I construction and commissioning activities.
- Liaise with asset holders to coordinate site access, hot work permits, and preparation for construction activities.
- Supervise EPIC contractor during execution of Electrical, Instrumentation, F&G, DCS, ESD, and Telecom scopes across offshore construction sites.
- Review and interpret detailed design drawings, method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and material receipt inspections.
- Supervise and verify E&I material inspections at offshore sites and contractor yards; raise damage and missing material reports as required.
- Act as Permit Applicant within e-PTW systems, ensuring full compliance with all work permit processes.
- Attend daily planning meetings with asset holders; monitor daily progress and report constraints or anomalies.
- Coordinate offshore logistics for personnel and materials in line with work schedules.
- Oversee contractor construction schedules, method statements, JHAs, and ensure adherence to HSE and quality procedures.
- Supervise field E&I works such as cable pulling, termination, loop shooting, meggering, cabinet installations, instrument installations, and functional testing.
- Perform inspections, sign off quality control forms, and certify completion of works in line with approved ITPs.
- Conduct punch list walkdowns, manage punch closure process, and verify Mechanical Completion Certificates (MCCs).
- Maintain detailed daily progress reports; escalate contractual deviations or anomalies as necessary.
- Review and verify contractor's weekly progress statements and submit reports to management.
Qualifications & Experience
- HNC / HND / Diploma in Instrumentation, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognised institution.
- 8-10 years of hands-on construction and installation experience within the offshore oil & gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of E&I, Telecom, Telemetry, and related offshore systems.
- Proven experience supervising brownfield construction and commissioning activities on wellhead jackets, offshore platforms, and associated facilities.
- Sound understanding of international construction standards, industry best practices, and quality assurance processes.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting construction drawings, schedules, method statements and ITPs.
- Experience working in multicultural offshore environments supervising multi-national contractor teams.
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving abilities.
- Fully computer literate, with good report-writing skills.
