We're supporting a fast-growing renewable energy company in their search for a Category Procurement Manager to join their Offshore Wind Procurement team in the APAC region. This role can be based in Japan, South Korea, or Taiwan, and focuses on leading procurement strategy and supplier engagement for one of the following key categories:
- Wind Turbine Generators (WTG)
- Offshore Substations (OSS)
- Turbines & Installation (T&I)
- Subsea Cables (CAB)
- Foundations (FOU)
You'll work as part of a regional team driving best-in-class supply chain strategies across a portfolio of offshore wind projects. The role sits at the core of project execution and strategic sourcing - from early-stage development through to construction and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead category procurement efforts aligned to offshore wind project development and execution across APAC.
- Engage and manage relationships with OEMs and key supply chain partners within your assigned category.
- Support tendering, negotiation, and execution of complex agreements (e.g. TSA, EPCI, availability and service contracts, framework agreements).
- Coordinate cross-functional input from legal, technical, commercial, and finance stakeholders.
- Implement category strategies in line with company standards, including ESG, cost optimisation, and localisation.
- Prepare and lead contract reviews, internal alignment sessions, and negotiation strategies.
- Track supplier performance, cost structures, market trends, and risk factors.
- Support project teams during development, construction, and handover phases with procurement expertise.
- Ensure procurement policies and supply chain documentation are accurate and audit-ready.
Ideal Candidate:
- 8-15 years of experience in procurement, category management, or contract negotiation within the offshore wind or related energy sector.
- Proven experience in one or more of the following categories: WTG, OSS, T&I, Cables, or Foundations.
- Strong understanding of contract forms such as TSA, EPCI, FIDIC, LOGIC, Bareboat, and BIMCO.
- Degree-qualified in Engineering, Procurement, Commercial, Legal or a related field; Master's in Purchasing Management is a plus.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Collaborative and decisive, with a strong commercial mindset.
- Willingness to relocate and work across regional teams.
