Job Title: Cost Engineer
Location: Boden, Sweden

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 hours per day

We are working with a trailblazing industrial client developing a state-of-the-art facility in Northern Sweden focused on low-emission steel production. The plant represents one of the largest and most environmentally transformative industrial investments in Europe.
As part of this pioneering project, we are seeking an experienced Cost Engineer to oversee cost control activities for a major area of the development. Key Responsibilities:

Oversee cost control activities for a major area of the project, ensuring alignment with project delivery objectives and company financial guidelines.

Supervise and support EPCM contractors, resolving issues and ensuring accurate forecasting of costs across construction and supply vendors.

Lead monthly cost coordination meetings with EPCMs to review cost reports, cashflows, and change management processes.

Interface with finance and accounting teams to produce timely and accurate cost reports and forecasts.

Collaborate with Area Managers to conduct monthly cost review sessions and produce internal reporting.

Support the Head of Project Services in preparing stakeholder presentations and internal updates.

Maintain awareness of project progress and proactively flag risks, trends, or opportunities for optimisation.
Ideal Candidate Profile:

Around 10 years' experience in cost control for large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects, ideally within an EPCM contracting environment.

Strong knowledge of project phases and cost control methodologies (AACE, PMI standards preferred).

Familiarity with interfaces across engineering, procurement, construction, finance, and planning disciplines.

Proven experience in developing and reviewing high-value estimates and managing large-scale budgets.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with contractors and internal stakeholders.

Advanced Excel skills and experience with cost control software/tools.
