Accounting and Reporting Specialist – Renewable Energy (Remote, UK)
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting and Reporting Specialist to join a growing UK-based Commercial Asset Management team within the renewable energy sector. This role offers the opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of companies, providing comprehensive financial, administrative, and tax support, while contributing directly to the performance of renewable energy assets.
Key Responsibilities

Serve as the main point of contact for designated clients, ensuring a high standard of service and timely responses.

Process and record incoming and outgoing invoices.

Manage bank transactions including payments, receivables, tax settlements, and loan repayments.

Conduct bank reconciliations and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

Prepare and submit tax filings, including monthly and quarterly VAT returns; support tax-related queries.

Support the preparation and filing of annual statutory accounts and maintain statutory books.

Accrue revenues and key expenses such as insurance, land leases, depreciation, and O&M.

Produce and deliver financial reports to clients, including key performance indicators (KPIs).

Perform intercompany reconciliations and manage daily banking operations in multiple currencies.

Oversee the purchase order system, match invoices to POs, and ensure accurate cost allocation.

Coordinate and support year-end and half-year audits, maintaining comprehensive digital records.

Manage payment runs and assist with cash flow reporting and management.

Prepare statutory financial statements in accordance with UK regulations.
Key Requirements

Solid working knowledge of accounting, finance, and tax regulations for SMEs.

Experience managing both purchase and sales ledgers.

Strong understanding of core accounting principles, including debits/credits, reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments.

4–5 years of relevant accounting experience in the UK.

Mandatory experience working with renewable energy assets.

Proven ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks independently, and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.

Fluent in English; Spanish language skills are highly desirable.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Word).

Experience with accounting systems such as D365 and Odoo is an advantage.

Comfortable in client-facing roles and working under pressure.
Qualifications

Degree in Economics, Business Administration, or related fields.
-
Ideally part-qualified or actively working towards ACA, ACCA, or CIMA certification.
