Dedicated to quality service

TotalEnergies Solar

The Brief

Total has entered into agreements for the development of the Al Kharsaah Solar PV IPP Project, an 800 megawatt-peak (MWp) solar plant that will be located 80 kilometers west of Doha, Qatar.Owned by Siraj Energy, Marubeni and Total, the first large-scale solar power plant being developed in Qatar.

As a trusted service provider, Kintec have been assigned to manage any project manpower requirements.

With the new company needing to set up offices, transition data as well as mobilise the necessary manpower, we needed to start delivering our services as soon as possible.

The Challenge

This needs changing - With this project starting at the end of 2016, we had to quickly deliver 170 people in a brief 8-month period. This included much more than simply sourcing Oil & Gas talent as, once they had been recruited, we were in charge of flying them to the site, organising H2S and PPE Equipment training and ensuring they also received the correct orientations.

Alongside this, we helped those with families relocate and provided them with everything they needed to settle into Qatar. Our knowledge of the area and the project ensured every hire we brought in was equipped with everything they needed to deliver high-quality work.

The Outcome

This needs changing - The project was a huge success, for us and North Oil. As the key supplier for manpower across the entire project, throughout 2017 we mobilised 170 people at a time when the market was becoming increasingly tough.

Alongside the global mobilisation of experts, we also ensured that the infrastructure was kept in place on completion of the project by managing and retaining what grew to 180 people, from contractors to support operations.

Now, North Oil Company are looking to invest a further £3 billion into the oil field and our ongoing relationship with the client means we’re able to further support the development of the Al-Shaheen field.
