Job Description - Yard Engineering Lead
Part A: Job Specification
Job Purpose
Provide Engineering support to the fabrication yard construction and commissioning activities for North Field Expansion (NFXP and NFW) Offshore Project, ensuring seamless transition from Engineering to fabrication/commissioning, with fully compliance with project engineering deliverables and standardised processes to provide support to the Topside Engineering Division Manager ensuring all aspects are delivered to the highest standards.
The Yard Engineering Lead will be responsible for providing expert technical guidance on site, across all engineering disciplines. The role ensures compliance with QatarEnergy LNG and international standards to enhance asset reliability and safety.
Reporting and Relationships
Reports to: NFXP Offshore Topsides Engineering Division Manager.
Direct Reports: None

Frequent contact with QatarEnergy LNG Major Projects Department.

Periodic contact with Other QatarEnergy LNG Engineering Departments and their SMEs
Job Context & Major Challenge(s)
Provide extensive knowledge and understanding on the requirements of ECPI, communicating and efficiently translating Company requirements and data into an efficient delivery from the contractor. Collaborate across disciplines (including Process, Loss Prevention, Electrical, Mechanical, ICSS, Pipeline, Umbilicals, HSSE and Risk), and monitor the progress and delivery of the engineering sections of the work scope.

Key Job Accountabilities
1. Provide follow-on engineering support to the fabrication yard, to support construction and commissioning activities and close out of engineering.
2. Review Contractor engineering site queries and red line mark up of engineering deliverables to support As-building activities.
3. Provide on-site technical guidance and act as engineering interface between fabrication site and engineering design office, to resolve site engineering issues.
4. Participate in key design workshop and ensure that workshop recommendations are correctly implemented and actions closed (Lessons Learned, Value Engineering, HAZIDs, etc.).
5. Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts with respect to the disciplines involved in delivery of the Topsides and ensures endorsement of technical deviations to Company specifications when required.
6. Ensure Contractor follows management of change procedures, with respect to any design changes initiated from the field.
7. Attend FATs/SATs and supports field commissioning activities.
8. Co-ordination / development of procedures for smooth handover of equipment packages to operations.
9. Ensure on time issuance of engineering deliverables to support site activities.

Part B: Person Specification - Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
Knowledge and/or Experience
8 years of relevant Engineering experience in a major project environment within the oil and gas industry and having a broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, offshore facilities design, construction and operations.
Technical and Business Skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interact within a PMT.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in multi-disciplinary, multicultural teams in offshore environments.
Excellent report writing and presentation skills
A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English
Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office applications and some technical applications. Good knowledge of mechanical equipment, piping, pipeline, structural, instrument, telecom, piping and electrical.
