Job Title: Electrical Site Manager (BOP – Wind Farm)
Location: Philippines
Job Summary
Responsible for monitoring and controlling the Balance of Plant (BOP) contractor’s electrical works for a large-scale wind farm project, including cabling, substation works, and transmission line installation. The role includes contractor supervision, quality assurance, interface management, and coordination with authorities and grid operators to ensure safe, compliant, and timely project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control BOP contractor activities related to:
- Cabling works
- Substation installation
- Transmission line construction
- Coordinate electrical scope interfaces between contractors, utilities, and authorities
- Support communication with grid operators and manage grid connection agreement requirements
- Supervise and manage a site-based team including Quality Controller and Electrical Engineer
- Support development and implementation of Contract Management Plans
- Ensure all contractor works comply with specifications, design basis, and project schedules
- Monitor contractor interfaces and resolve coordination issues
- Verify contractor acceptance of subcontractor and supplier deliveries
- Maintain a daily log of events relevant for contractual and dispute management purposes
- Ensure compliance with Basis for Design across all activities
- Support approval of supplier quality plans and milestone deliverables
- Verify compliance of delivered works with QA/QC requirements and maintain quality records
- Monitor implementation of risk management and environmental protection measures
- Assess schedule and cost impact of site activities and risks
- Track construction progress against project schedule and take corrective actions for delays
- Coordinate with technical and supervision representatives on-site
- Ensure compliance with construction methodologies and standards
- Verify as-built documentation and maintain project records
- Participate in Permit to Work (PTW) processes and approvals
- Prepare and submit daily progress reports in coordination with contractors
- Accept completed works on-site and verify completion documentation
- Ensure availability and validity of technical certificates, test reports, and quality documentation
- Sign off completed works in accordance with procedures
- Demonstrate strong safety leadership and promote HSE culture
- Lead and participate in toolbox talks, inductions, and risk assessments
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant construction experience in power generation projects
- Experience in wind power projects preferred
- Strong knowledge of:
- Philippine Grid Code
- Philippine Electrical Code (PEC)
- International electrical standards
- Experience working with utilities and transmission system operators
- Strong background in contract management and QA/QC systems
