Job Title: Civil Construction Engineer
Location: Philippines
Job Summary
Responsible for monitoring and controlling civil construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with approved design, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules. The role covers roads, hardstands, foundations, substation facilities, and transmission line civil works for power generation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control daily civil construction activities for:
- Roads and hardstands
- Foundations
- Substation facilities
- Transmission line civil works
- Track construction progress against project schedules and implement corrective actions for delays
- Liaise with technical and supervision representatives on-site
- Coordinate and manage redline mark-ups with contractors
- Ensure construction works comply with approved design and technical specifications
- Verify as-built documentation and ensure accuracy of project records
- Review subcontractor scope of work and ensure proper execution
- Verify materials and equipment supplied by vendors meet project requirements
- Supervise materials inspection and acceptance processes with contractors
- Participate in Permit to Work (PTW) meetings and support approvals
- Prepare and submit daily progress reports in coordination with contractors
- Accept and certify completed work on-site
- Ensure availability and validity of quality documentation including certificates, test reports, and technical passports
- Ensure construction works comply with design specifications and cost estimates
- Sign off completed work documentation from contractors
- Maintain proper site documentation in accordance with procedures
- Promote and demonstrate strong safety leadership
- Lead and participate in toolbox talks, safety inductions, and risk assessments
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BSc or MSc) in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant construction engineering experience in power generation projects
- Experience in wind power projects is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of:
- Foundation and road construction
- Concrete handling and testing
- Geotechnical principles
- Ability to hold signature rights related to authority certification
