Working Schedule: 5 days on / 2 days off, 8 hours per day

An opportunity has opened for an experienced Instrumentation & Telecom Supervisor to join a major offshore development project during its fabrication and installation phases. This role involves working closely with contractors and sub-contractors at a fabrication yard, ensuring all instrumentation and telecom activities are executed to the highest quality, safety, and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and oversee all contractor instrumentation and telecom construction activities at the yard.

  • Coordinate fabrication, installation, and pre-fabrication activities across internal and external teams.

  • Ensure integration and alignment of activities with subcontractors involved in assembly stages.

  • Enforce compliance with all relevant safety procedures and construction quality standards.

  • Support technical optimisation by identifying efficient solutions during execution.

  • Provide accurate and timely input for progress tracking and reporting.

Context & Environment:

  • This position is based in Qingdao, China, at a major EPC contractor’s yard.

  • The project includes new offshore platforms, subsea pipeline installations, and integration with existing facilities.

  • Candidate must be flexible for occasional international travel or offshore missions as required.

  • Interfaces span multiple disciplines and international stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Associate degree, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent hands-on experience in a technical discipline.

  • ATEX Compex Ex Certification is mandatory.

  • Minimum 12 years of professional experience in the oil and gas sector.

  • At least 10 years’ experience on offshore or topside construction projects.

  • Deep understanding of construction contracts and inspection procedures.

  • Familiar with international codes and standards (e.g. AWS, API).

  • Able to read and interpret General Arrangement (GA) drawings, tubing isometrics, P&IDs, and building marking plans.

  • Proven ability to lead in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

  • Excellent communication and supervisory skills.

  • Strong command of English is required; Mandarin fluency is mandatory.

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and email communications.

  • Experience with document control and commissioning systems is preferred (e.g. DCC tools or ICAPs).
