Job Title: Well Site Engineer / Offshore Drilling Engineer
Location: Offshore - North Sea
Contract Type: Rotational, Annually Renewable Contract
Contract Duration: ASAP start, Projected for 1 Year
Work Schedule: 3 Weeks On / 3 Weeks Off
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Drilling Supervisor
- Assist in all aspects of operation coordination and planning
- Control and manage logistics effectively
- Capture and document operational improvements and lessons learned
- Offshore cost monitoring and awareness
- Prepare regular and ad hoc reports related to site operations
- Mentor and train new team members
Operational Coordination:
- Support the daily follow-up between the rig and onshore office
- Prepare casing tallies, cement programs, and perform related calculations
- Maintain electronic filing systems for offshore use
- Liaise with drilling contractors and third-party service providers
- Support development of drilling and completion guidelines
- Participate in Drill Well on Paper (DWOP) workshops
- Review programs and guidelines; provide timely feedback
- Ensure documentation and procedures are updated and distributed
Logistics Control:
- Maintain and run rental equipment logging and cargo manifest systems
- Oversee equipment on board and in transit; ensure thorough checks upon arrival
Learning & Improvement:
- Record and organize lessons learned using information management systems
Reporting:
- Act as focal point offshore for all DDR reporting
- Update and maintain DDR entries and associated reports
- Prepare cement, casing, kick, and logging reports as required
- Review daily reports and support the Operations Drilling Engineer with data compilation
Cost Control:
- Monitor daily costs incurred at the well site
- Maintain cost awareness for offshore services and equipment
Training & Mentorship:
- Mentor and instruct new Well Site Engineers (WSEs), providing feedback and supporting professional development
- Relay progress and feedback to the Well Engineering Manager
Requirements:
- Solid technical foundation and understanding
- Engineering degree or equivalent technical background
- Basic Offshore Safety Training (BOSC/BOSIET including HUET)
- Valid Offshore Medical Certificate
