MISSIONS / SERVICE DIMENSIONS
With Strong focus on lowering contractor NPT to ALARP with zero unplanned BOP retrievals the Service holder will provide technical advice, improve operational efficiency and reliability for all matters relating to the operation, maintenance and testing of well control and related third party equipment.
The core of the service will intent to facilitate BOP deployments exceeding 365 days between retrieval for maintenance by liaising with the drilling contractor, equipment manufacturers and third parties to identify design improvements, applicable alerts and bulletins and implementation of the same and ensuring contractor compliance with
Total Energies rules, API specifications and standards, contractor policies, procedures and guidelines and with Local Government regulatory requirements.
The service holder reports to the Drilling and Wells Package, directly to Head of Drilling Operations.
ACTIVITIES
HSE

Phase 1: Initial Engineering / Rig Selection:
- Participate in the rig selection technical reviews and rig visits with a strong focus on compliance with the CFT requirements, additional areas of focus include:
- Cover all points addressed in IQ Rig (GS-441, API etc)
- Ensure compliance with the standards of Total Energies, API, Regulatory, Class Society and Drilling Contractor
- Project specific requirements
- WCE reliability and design to identify potential issues and potential solutions
- Review tools and processes for reliability including remote monitoring and digital pressure testing services
- Establish status of OEM alerts, bulletins, and obsolescence with potential to impact reliability
- Perform accumulator volumetric calculations for the BOP control system including shearing, sealing, MEWHP, MOPFLPS
- Deferred and active planned and corrective maintenance work orders
- Critical and Capital spares relative to the intended operation
- Identifying opportunities to optimise IBWM (Intervention-Based Well Management) maintenance, predeployment testing, BOP handling / transfer / deployment
- Upgrades and modifications required to meet CFT or reliability goals
- Provide technical advice to the affiliate as required
- Major focus on schedule and risks to same, including contractor personnel performance
- Support discussions and negotiations between the affiliate, Rig contractors and sub-contractors
- Manage selection and day to day activities of the preferred TPI WCE inspector
- Liaise with the Drill Safe audit
- Ensure findings are included into IQ Rig
Phase 2: Rig Projects / Upgrades / Reactivations / Contract Preparations / Acceptance:
- Continue with all points and duties raised in phase Initial Engineering / Rig Selection
- Ensure compliance with the standards of Total Energies, API, Regulatory, Class Society and Drilling Contractor
- Major focus on schedule and risks to same, including contractor personnel performance
- Review alerts and bulletins released since phase 1 and contractors plan for implementation, advise on impacts
- Review critical spares, tools, and manning levels, confirm sufficient available for acceptance testing preparation, execution, and operational start up.
- Review procedures for surface acceptance, pre-deployment testing and checklist, BOP deployment, subsea acceptance
- Manage onboarding of remote BOP monitoring and reliability strategy
- Monitor and witness preparation for WCE acceptance
- Manage selection and day to day activities of the preferred TPI WCE inspector for rig acceptance Witness surface and subsea acceptance
- Assist closing any critical non-conformances before contract start
- Ensure findings are included into IQ Rig
Phase 3: Operational Campaign after subsea WCE acceptance is complete
- Continue with all points and duties raised in phase 1 & 2
- Attend the affiliates office and provide technical support and operational advice as requested
- Review and advise on contractors IBWM maintenance plans immediately after BOP deployment
- Monitor contractor maintenance system, critical spares, capital spares, failure reporting
- Monitor BOP and control system health and reliability strategy in liaison with contractor, OEM and RTM provider
- Review alerts and bulletins released since phase 2 and contractors plan for implementation, advise on impacts
- Assist with troubleshooting, risk assessment, fault tree analysis for single or multiple failures and assess the impact on continued BOP operations or well hoping
- Provide technical reports, failure reports, REX on WCE equipment
- Identify operational improvements through use of after-action reviews with the contractor and assist implementing the same
- Monitor contractor subsea team competence and training
- Provide detailed daily or weekly reporting to Affiliate and HQ as directed
- Perform periodic onboard WCE inspection
- Attend the rig for IBWM, Predeployment testing, BOP deployment and Initial testing or as required
- To promote safety culture within the project and its activities. Lead by exemplarity to have the team members and colleagues adhering and contributing.

CONTEXT & ENVIRONNENT
The activity takes place in the context of the execution phase of a major project in Suriname. The Suriname GranMorgu is a multidisciplinary team that coordinates the project managed by TotalEnergies on the Deep and Shallow Water discoveries of offshore Suriname Block 58.
The technical challenges the Project will face are the reservoir development and management, FPSO, and subsea production/injection system.
The Suriname Team will develop the Project with the objectives of maximizing economic results by optimizing the reserves, and the schedule, reducing the costs and the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emission, while maintaining the technical quality of the installations, with high H3SE requirements and focus.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Required
- Minimum 5-10 years senior subsea experience on a UDW MUX unit
- Minimum 5 years onshore subsea manager / superintendent / technical support / project roles for an IDC or
- Minimum or 3-5 years IOC experience in a WCE reliability or support roles / Third Party Inspection Company as a WCE inspector
- Experience of purchasing, manufacturing, remanufacturing, upgrades, certification, documentation, FAT, commissioning of WCE
- Relationships with major WCE OEM's
- Knowledge and familiarity with the major OEM's BOP and Control Systems (NOV / HMH / SLB)
- Experience with WCE management and implementation of:
- Industry rules, specifications, and standards
- Maintenance history, failure reporting, RCA, and FMECA
- Inspection, maintenance, and critical spares
- Manufacturer alerts and bulletins
- TPI audits and findings
- Equipment obsolescence
- Development of technical standards and procedures
- Operational efficiency optimization
