Job Overview
We are seeking a senior leader to establish and lead a new water design team in the South East. This role offers the opportunity to build a satellite office from the ground up, shape strategic direction, and lead a multidisciplinary capability supporting clean water, wastewater, and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities

Create and establish a new satellite office in the South East

Identify, attract, and retain engineering and management talent

Lead, develop, and manage the team while maintaining a positive, collaborative culture

Plan team growth in line with strategic business objectives

Manage organisational structure and ensure resource alignment

Ensure work is carried out using agreed design processes and procedures

Ensure design deliverables meet safety, quality, and integration requirements

Ensure design packages are produced within agreed timescales and allocated hours

Ensure the team uses appropriate technical standards, best practices, and software tools

Record all project changes relating to design packages

Provide senior technical guidance and leadership across projects
Required Qualifications & Experience
-
Minimum 10 years’ experience in a regulated engineering sector such as water, oil and gas, nuclear, highways, or bridges
-
Graduate or HND in a relevant engineering discipline
-
Strong IT capability
-
Proven track record managing multidisciplinary design teams and technical delivery

Experience building teams and developing engineering capability
-
Significant experience in the regulated water industry

Chartered or working towards chartership with an engineering or management institution

Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
