Job Description:
A Senior Vessel Coordinator is sought to provide support for offshore wind operations, focusing on the planning and coordination of vessel, marine, and helicopter activities. This key position acts as the point of contact between offshore crews, contractors, and onshore teams. Core duties include leading daily operational planning, ensuring compliance with HSE and project procedures, managing logistics such as crew changes and cargo transfers, and maintaining effective communication to minimise operational conflicts. As a senior member, you will promote a strong safety culture, support site management, and help drive continuous improvement in offshore operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily activities with the Marine and Helicopter Coordination Centre.
- Schedule and facilitate meetings, maintaining communication with all project stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with project procedures, operational processes, and use of IT tools.
- Support Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) initiatives as required.
- Contribute to lessons learned and submit change requests for continuous improvement.
- Participate in the Daily Planning Meeting, offering relevant operational input.
- Serve as the main contact between contractors and marine crew.
- Assist in coordinating all vessels operating within the field.
- Submit and verify daily vessel activity reports.
- Promote discipline and accountability among industrial personnel onsite.
- Foster and reinforce a strong safety culture among vessel crews and offshore teams.
- Lead daily planning meetings as delegated or required.
- Provide backup for selected Site Manager responsibilities as necessary.
- Propose improvements to the Offshore Site Management scope, tools, and procedures.
Tasks:
- Plan and coordinate Construction SOV, marine, and helicopter activities, including relevant documentation preparation.
- Provide daily planning lookaheads.
- Liaise with Packages & Contractors to minimise operational conflicts.
- Coordinate with Offshore Operations regarding CTV timings.
- Maintain daily communication with contractors and vessel crews to ensure compliance with site procedures and operating management systems.
- Ensure all vessel masters complete inductions.
- Assist the Construction Manager with designated tasks.
- Chair or attend interface and kick-off meetings with contractors.
- Ensure personnel approval within the OMS.
- Aid in SOV port calls and crew changes.
- Track and control all cargo on/off the SOV, including declarations to authorities.
- Serve as point of contact between contractors/vessel crew offshore and onshore teams.
- Ensure personnel are authorised to use the W2W system.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in offshore operations coordination (marine, vessel, or helicopter activities desirable).
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage logistics and operational planning in an offshore environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of HSE principles and offshore safety processes.
- Organised, proactive, and solutions-oriented with a drive for continuous improvement.
- IT literate, capable of working with operational management systems and reporting tools.
