Overview
We are supporting a growing engineering organisation seeking a Professional Engineer (PE) to deliver high-voltage transmission line design projects. This fully remote role requires availability during Mountain Standard Time working hours and offers the opportunity to work on complex power infrastructure projects from concept through construction support.

The position involves leading technical design activities, preparing engineering deliverables, and working closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop safe, reliable, and cost-effective transmission solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a collaborative team to understand project scope, prepare deliverables, and provide technical updates.

  • Perform cost-effective transmission line designs in accordance with industry, client, and company standards.

  • Generate design criteria, technical reports, design verifications, and clearance tables using PLS-CADD.

  • Build and modify pole and tower models for transmission line design.

  • Develop construction assembly drawings, material specifications, and structure loading packages for vendor submittals.

  • Prepare construction specification packages including drawings, single-line diagrams, phasing plans, and installation requirements.

  • Attend and lead internal and external project meetings.

  • Travel occasionally for short periods to support project or site requirements.

  • Organise and complete work within established deadlines during standard operating hours.

  • Follow company procedures, safety requirements, and project policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the United States (required).

  • Minimum 4 years of experience designing transmission lines between 69kV and 500kV.

  • Proficiency in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-TOWER.

  • Knowledge of MFAD, LPILE, and applicable design standards including NESC, ASCE, IEEE, and RUS.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.

  • Capability to meet the physical demands of a typical engineering environment, including occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.
