Position Title: Offshore T&I Lead Engineer
Location: Middle East – Onshore (70%) / Offshore (30%)
Project: Major Gas Compression Development
Contract Duration: 3-Year Secondment
Work Schedule:

  • 10 hours/day

  • 6 days/week

  • 26 days/month

Job Purpose:

The role involves leading the safe and efficient planning and execution of offshore transportation and installation (T&I) activities, including riser installation, subsea facilities deployment, and tie-in works. The successful candidate will also be responsible for overseeing coordination efforts related to offshore execution, ensuring alignment with engineering documentation, vessel readiness, SIMOPS, and risk mitigation strategies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead offshore planning and execution of riser and subsea installation activities for a large-scale compression project.

  • Review and validate engineering deliverables, method statements, and installation work packages.

  • Coordinate and supervise all offshore T&I operations, including load-outs, heavy lifts, cable installations, and subsea tie-ins.

  • Ensure T&I scopes are executed in line with safety, schedule, quality, and cost objectives.

  • Take part in vessel mobilization, site readiness, and interface coordination including SIMOPS planning.

  • Actively support HAZID/HAZOP reviews, risk assessments, and safety planning.

  • Champion HSE culture and best practices in a high-paced, multicultural environment.

  • Support acceptance of vessels and installation equipment for project execution.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

  • Valid offshore survival certification and the ability to pass offshore medical exams. OPITO certification is advantageous.

 

Experience & Competencies:

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with strong offshore T&I execution leadership.

  • At least 5 years offshore experience on installation vessels (pipelines, risers, subsea cables, etc.).

  • Extensive hands-on experience with barge/DSV/vessel operations for offshore installation.

  • Sound knowledge of international standards, offshore lifting operations, riser stalk-on, load-out, and transportation.

  • Experienced in working with global offshore contractors and vessel teams.

  • Familiar with HAZID, HAZOP, and risk management processes.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure and in multicultural environments.
