Job Title: Technical Service Manager (Kafka/Event Streaming)

Key Responsibilities:
- Own the full lifecycle of the Event Streaming service built on Apache Kafka, from design and onboarding to operations and continual improvement.
- Define the long-term direction, vision and tactical roadmap for the service, setting standards for operational efficiency, compliance and user satisfaction.
- Engage closely with suppliers and technical teams to optimize delivery and expand service capabilities.
- Align service strategy and operations with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Define and manage service requirements and specifications, ensuring a robust, resilient and secure architecture in collaboration with technical architects.
- Refine operational excellence, automate lifecycle management, and enhance monitoring, logging and dashboards.
- Guide development teams on best practices for event streaming, expand self-service and support teams in maximizing value from the Kafka platform.
- Ensure adherence to governance, quality standards and enterprise policies.
- Financial management, including budget tracking for the service.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior role such as Service Owner, Service Manager, or similar, driving digital service strategies.
- Extensive proficiency in integration architectures and event streaming, specifically with Kafka platform management and strategies.
- Demonstrable experience in supplier engagement, service lifecycle management and collaborative work within distributed technical teams.
- Data-driven approach to decision making and performance tracking.
- Strong skills in stakeholder engagement with excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building abilities.
- Fluency in both spoken and written English.
- Customer-centric mindset with a passion for learning, creative problem-solving, and continual improvement.
- Proven experience in driving transformation and fostering innovation within teams.
- Able to inspire, motivate and build consensus while maintaining a positive, energetic and holistic approach.
