Job Description
We are offering an exciting consulting opportunity to play a key role in delivering safety-critical communication systems for offshore construction projects. You will be at the center of complex, technology-driven projects, ensuring reliable communication solutions during the construction phase of offshore assets. This role suits a technically minded project manager with strong radio and communication system knowledge, who enjoys bridging the gap between engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders.
Scope of Work:
- Act as technical project manager for offshore communication and safety systems during the construction phase
- Lead and coordinate stakeholders, contractors, and vendors with a structured and proactive approach
- Ensure technical solutions are clearly communicated and understood by non-technical personnel and management teams
- Oversee and participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), including review, approval, and verification of communication systems
- Validate system performance, compliance, and operational readiness
- Present project status, risks, and technical solutions confidently to management and decision-makers
- Support commercial discussions and contribute with a commercial mindset to project decisions
- Ensure documentation, reporting, and communication meet project and regulatory requirements
- You will be involved in projects utilizing a broad range of modern communication technologies, including:
- Satellite Communication: Starlink, Iridium
- Radio Systems: TETRA, VHF (Marine & Aeronautical)
- Wireless & Data Networks: LTE
- Tracking & Surveillance: AIS, ADS-B
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a technical project manager or consultant, preferably within offshore, energy, maritime, or construction environments
- Strong radio and communication system knowledge
- Experience with FAT and SAT planning, execution, and approval
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and a structured working style
- Ability to translate complex technical topics into clear, understandable messages
- Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with contractors, engineers, and senior management
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 30 days per year
- Commercial awareness and understanding of project cost, risk, and value
- Proactive and solution-oriented
- Structured, reliable, and detail-focused
- Comfortable working independently as a consultant
- Confident presenter with strong interpersonal skills
