Job Title: System Consultant - IT Infrastructure (LDAP/Linux)

Location: Luleå, Sweden (initially on-site, partial remote possible)

Start Date: 01 September 2025

End Date: 31 December 2025

Workload: 20% to 60% of full-time (typically 40%)

Contract Type: Freelance/Contract

Extension Options: Contract may be extended by 3-month intervals, up to 31 December 2026

Language Requirements: Swedish and English (spoken and written)

Overview

We are supporting a public-sector client in their search for a skilled System Consultant with senior-level infrastructure expertise. The assignment involves upgrading an enterprise LDAP directory system and underlying infrastructure as part of a critical system lifecycle update.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience in Linux system administration within enterprise environments, particularly with LDAP 389 Directory Server, and will be comfortable working in regulated environments where documentation, testing, and process compliance are essential.

Assignment Scope

  • Upgrade 389 Directory Server (LDAP) to the latest version
  • Migrate OS on relevant servers from RedHat to Debian
  • Handle certificates and ensure secure configuration
  • Perform functionality testing in both test and production environments
  • Document all changes thoroughly
  • Collaborate closely with the client's internal IT operations team
  • Work initially on-site in Luleå; partial remote work possible after onboarding
  • Comply with internal guidelines regarding IT resource and information management
  • Follow basic information security principles

Mandatory Requirements

  • Several years of experience operating and maintaining Linux systems in enterprise environments
  • Proven expertise with 389 Directory Server (LDAP)
  • Familiarity with ACME protocol (Let's Encrypt)
  • Availability to work partially on-site in Luleå
  • Proficient in Swedish and English, spoken and written
  • Able to commit to structured documentation and security protocols

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible or similar
  • Previous collaboration with Swedish public sector organisations
  • Familiarity with process-oriented change management
