Sustainability Manager
Role Summary
The Sustainability Manager will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of sustainability requirements throughout the design and construction phases, with a focus on coordination between consultants and contractors, and compliance with local authority regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with design consultants (Architectural, MEP, Façade) to review and approve material submittals in line with sustainability requirements
- Ensure all materials comply with green building standards, including low-VOC, recycled content, and environmentally certified products
- Verify compliance with local authority regulations (e.g., Al Sa’fat Green Building System or equivalent)
- Liaise with contractors to ensure proper implementation of approved materials on site
- Monitor construction activities to ensure alignment with sustainability specifications and approved submittals
- Support preparation and submission of documentation for green building certification
- Participate in technical coordination meetings and provide sustainability input
- Track and report on energy efficiency, water usage, and indoor environmental quality
Candidate Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical, Environmental, or Civil Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience in high-rise or large-scale developments
- Strong experience in material submittal review and consultant coordination
- Knowledge of LEED/WELL standards and local authority requirements
- UAE project experience is preferred
- Strong communication and coordination skills
