Contract Type: 3-year secondment
Work Schedule: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Surveyor to plan, conduct, and process surveys for underground and above-ground services in oil and gas operational areas. The role involves onshore and offshore fieldwork, data processing, and collaboration with engineering and GIS teams to maintain accurate geographic and facility data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct surveys to detect and map underground services including electric, instrumentation, telecom, fiber optic cables, and pipelines.

  • Use cable locators, scanners, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), GNSS, Total Station, Multi-station (MS60), and Digital Level equipment in operational areas.

  • Process survey data with network adjustments and geographic coordinate transformations; prepare survey drawings in AutoCAD.

  • Overlay surveyed data on existing facility data using ArcGIS Desktop/ArcGIS Pro and verify for conflicts.

  • Collaborate with field personnel, senior designers, and GIS engineers to locate and map services accurately.

  • Extract and analyse data from multi-disciplinary engineering drawings.

  • Maintain survey equipment, control points, and quality of topographical surveying.

  • Conduct dimensional checks for ongoing civil construction projects to ensure compliance with design drawings.

  • Provide technical guidance to in-house teams and contractors on survey methodologies.

  • Review technical aspects of tenders related to surveying and mapping; participate in tender evaluation committees.

  • Supervise and ensure quality assurance of contractor field activities, including LiDAR and other data collection.

  • Work extended hours in onshore and offshore oil and gas environments under hot or cold conditions.

Requirements

  • BSc in Geomatics, Geodetic Engineering, Surveying, or a related technical diploma.

  • Minimum 10 years of surveying experience, including at least 5 years in the oil and gas industry.

  • Expert knowledge of underground service mapping techniques and field equipment.

  • Proficiency in survey processing software such as Trimble Business Center and Leica Geo Office.

  • Skilled in AutoCAD for survey drawing preparation.

  • Working knowledge of ArcGIS Desktop / ArcGIS Pro for data visualisation and analysis.

  • Ability to understand multi-disciplinary engineering drawings and extract geographic data.

  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and technical problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work long hours in challenging environmental conditions.

  • Paid leave: 1 day per month; sick leave: 5 days per year.

  • Work includes both office and site-based activities.
