Job Title: Substation Engineer

Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Substation Design Engineer with expertise in physical design to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in designing and delivering high-quality substation projects for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed physical designs for substations, including general arrangements, elevations, grounding, conduit, and control house layouts.
- Create and review engineering drawings, specifications, and material lists to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Perform engineering calculations related to grounding, lightning protection, and equipment sizing.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and drafting teams to meet project deadlines and client expectations.
- Ensure designs adhere to applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations (e.g., IEEE, NEC, NESC).
- Conduct site visits and field inspections as needed to support project execution.
- Provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 4-8+ years of experience in substation physical/protection and control design
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation) and design tools.
- Strong understanding of substation equipment, layouts, and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as IEEE, NEC, and NESC.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- EIT and an ability to obtain a PE license within 1 year
- Experience with 3D modeling software (e.g., Bentley Substation, Revit).
- Knowledge of protection and control design is a plus.
