Role: Subsea HSE Supervisor

Location: Paris, France

Duration: 12 Months (Renewable, potentially up to 2.5 years)

Missions / Service dimensions

The service holder is responsible for supervising EPC Sub-contractor HSE activities on worksites to ensure, as per Project's HSE objectives, the site personnel safety, construction integrity, respect for the environment and reputation of the Company.

Reporting to the Subsea HSE Lead, the service provider will ensure the development and deployment of the Safety Culture in a streamlined approach with EPC Contractor.

Ensuring that HSE contractual requirements and the implementation/compliance to HSE documentation are duly applied by EPC Sub-Contractors, including through the day-to-day supervision and will make Company HSE presence visible on site.

Will be accountable for demonstrating, individually, an exemplary behaviour regarding H3SE rules & requirements and enforcing HSE execution decisions/directions taken by Subsea HSE Lead.

Follow-up of Sub-Contractor's HSE site activities and performances will be executed as per Project needs.

Activities

As the HSE supervisor, the services holder will demonstrate and execute a number of activities as described below.

Main Duties:

  • To ensure full sites compliance to the Project HSE Management System.
  • To ensure that site personnel have the required HSE competencies and that HSE trainings are performed as planned.
  • To develop, as required, additional HSE procedures/instructions at site level.
  • To ensure that the Sub-Contractor is enforcing his contractual commitments, is implementing properly his Contract HSE Plan and Objectives, is safely, properly and timely performing his activities.
  • To inform the Subsea HSE Lead of the need of changes the Construction sites Plans or Procedures.
  • To assist the Subsea lead in the resolution of specific HSE areas of concern; HSE reviews and risks assessments.
  • To monitor and performed the regular reporting issued.
  • To ensure the follow-up of HSE indicators (KPI's) and tracking of anomalies, incidents, accidents performed by the Contractors.
  • To participate to HSE Committees and other Package HSE events.
  • To regularly participate to others package HSE worksite audits / visits / tours.
  • To ensure confidentiality of all the documentation issued under his area of responsibility.

  • To promote safety awareness at all levels through exemplary and pro-active attitude with Project team, Contractors and Sub-Contractors.
  • To ensure promotion, implementation by site construction personnels of the Company Ethics, "Code of Conduct", Project Safety Culture and H3SE policy, rules and regulations.
  • To adopt and to demonstrate an exemplary behaviour regarding Company Ethics, "Code of Conduct", Project Company/Contractor Safety Culture and H3SE policy, rules and regulations.
  • Ready to adopt a flexible work approach.
  • Initiative-taking and able to work without supervision.
  • Good team player.

  • Have good communication and interpersonal relation skills.
  • Advanced cross-cultural influencing skills for work with personnel of varied nationalities and backgrounds.
  • Have the ability to transfer his know-how and "savoir-faire" to Worksite HSE team.

Context & Environment

The activity takes place in the context of the execution phase of a major project in Suriname. The Suriname GPI is a multidisciplinary team that coordinates the project managed by TotalEnergies on the Deep and Shallow Water discoveries of offshore Suriname Block 58.

The technical challenges the Project will face are the reservoir development and management, FPSO, and subsea production/injection system.

The Suriname Team will develop the Project with the objectives of maximizing economic results by optimizing the reserves, and the schedule, reducing the costs and the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emission, while maintaining the technical quality of the installations, with high H3SE requirements and focus.

Qualifications & Experience required

  • Professional Experience (years): from 5 to 10 years
  • Experience in similar position (years): minimum 5
  • Experience in facilities / yard supervision
  • Level / Diploma: Engineer Degree, equivalent or above
  • Languages: English mandatory.
  • Country of Location: France is a plus
