Job Title: Structural Engineering Lead (Civil)
Location: Qatar
Assignment Type: Onshore, 100% onshore
Contract Term: 36 months
Working Hours: 10 hours per day, 6 days per week
Leave Rotation: 12 weeks on / 2 weeks off
Role Overview:
We are seeking a Structural Engineering Lead (Civil) to oversee civil and structural engineering activities on large-scale energy projects. The role is responsible for guiding engineering contractors, ensuring deliverables meet technical specifications, codes, and industry standards, and providing oversight on FEED and EPC execution. This is a leadership role requiring strong coordination, problem-solving, and interface management skills across multiple disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead civil and structural engineering activities to ensure compliance with local regulations, codes, project specifications, and industry practices

Oversee contractor and subcontractor design and execution, ensuring proper resources and personnel competency

Provide guidance to FEED and EPC contractors and facilitate resolution of technical issues

Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, construction, procurement, and quality teams to provide civil/structural input

Conduct technical evaluations, including risk-based assessments of complex engineering issues, and provide recommendations for optimal solutions

Monitor schedules, track discipline progress, and ensure timely completion of deliverables

Maintain high safety, health, and environmental standards, demonstrating personal leadership in SHES practices

Interface effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve technical and operational issues
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

Minimum 8 years of diversified civil engineering experience on large oil and gas projects, including at least 5 years in engineering execution

FEED experience required; experience with tank foundation design is advantageous

Knowledge of brownfield engineering and execution practices
