Civil Structural Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Civil Structural Engineer to join a growing engineering team supporting power delivery and renewable energy projects. The role involves a diverse range of structural design work, including foundations, structural steel, and support structures for energy facilities. The ideal candidate is proactive, technically skilled, and thrives in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop plans and specifications for structures and foundations used in substations, transmission lines, and renewable energy installations.

  • Prepare design criteria, calculations, and engineering documentation.

  • Review and approve design work prepared by other team members.

  • Serve as the lead structural engineer on project teams and as the engineer of record when required.

  • Coordinate closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.

  • Participate in client meetings and occasional site visits.

  • Support proposal preparation and cost estimating activities.

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, helping develop internal standards and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution; a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.

  • Seven or more years of experience in structural engineering design.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with the ability to obtain registration in other states as needed.

  • Strong understanding of structural analysis and design for steel and foundation systems.

  • Proficient in common design and analysis tools and standard office applications.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to the New England region.
