Job Title: Senior Structural Engineer
Location: New England (office-based with site visits)

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our growing civil/structural engineering team. You will work on a wide range of electric power delivery and renewable generation projects, including substations, transmission lines, BESS plants, and wind/solar generation facilities. This role is ideal for a self-motivated engineer eager to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, with a focus on structural steel and foundation design.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Design

  • Prepare plans and specifications for structures and foundations in substations, transmission lines, and renewable generation plants.

  • Develop design criteria, calculations, reports, and other technical documents.

  • Perform peer reviews and act as Engineer-of-Record on assigned projects.

  • Collaborate with electrical, civil, and other design disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.

Project Delivery

  • Serve as lead structural engineer on project teams.

  • Participate in client meetings and conduct project site visits.

  • Support project management with scheduling, budgets, and quality oversight.

  • Assist in preparing proposals and engineering estimates.

Team Development & Leadership

  • Mentor and train junior engineers.

  • Contribute to the development of internal design tools, templates, and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution (Master’s in Structural Engineering preferred).

  • Minimum 7+ years of structural design experience.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with willingness to obtain additional state licenses.

  • Strong background in structural analysis, steel systems design, and foundation design.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Excel, Mathcad, and finite element software (RISA suite or similar).

  • Strong MS Office Suite skills.

  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
