Structural Designer
Location: Malaysia
Job Purpose
Independently produce 3D modelling, 2D drawings, MTO, connections, and detailing, taking into account installation and fabrication aspects, as well as complying with design code requirements of offshore structure projects.
Job Main Challenges
- 3D modelling and drawing preparation using E3D software, including MTO extraction
Main Accountabilities
- Ensure compliance with design rules and procedures in force within the company and recognized industry standards for design work scopes
- Deliver effective, efficient, and fit-for-purpose solutions and drawings
- Originate and check drawing deliverables (including 3D models) as required by project and engineering teams in accordance with project and statutory guidelines and schedule
- Interface with the design team/engineering services as required on a project basis
- Interface with other engineering/design disciplines during project execution
- Ensure the accuracy of the material take-off
Profile Requirements
Must have:
- Technical diploma with a minimum of 7 years' experience in the design and execution of projects in offshore facilities
- Mandatory working experience in 3D modelling using E3D software
- Knowledge of material take-off and bill of quantities
- Knowledge of joint detailing
Nice to have:
- Working experience in 3D modelling using S3D, Tekla, and BOCAD software
- Knowledge of fabrication and brownfields installation
