Job Description - Static Equipment Lead
Part A: Job Specification
Job Purpose
Lead the Static equipment engineering activities for North Field Expansion (NFXP and NFW) Offshore Project, ensuring technical requirements (e.g. project specifications, data sheets, etc.) fully comply with project deliverables and standardised processes and to provide support to NFE Offshore Engineering Manager ensuring all aspects are delivered to the highest standards.
The Static Equipment Lead will be responsible for providing expert technical guidance on mechanical/static equipment. The role ensures design of mechanical equipment, and compliance with QELNG and international standards to enhance asset reliability and safety.
Reporting and Relationships
Reports to: NFXP Offshore Head of Mechanical Engineering.
Direct Reports : None
Internal
Frequent contact with QatarEnergy LNG Major Projects Department.
External
Periodic contact with Other QatarEnergy LNG Engineering Departments and their SMEs.
Job Context & Major Challenge(s)
Provide extensive knowledge and understanding on the requirements of ECPI, communicating and efficiently translating Company requirements and data into an efficient delivery from the contractor. Collaborate across disciplines (including Process, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Pipeline, Umbilicals, HSSE and Risk), and monitor the progress and delivery of the engineering sections of the work scope.
Financial Dimension
As defined for this job level in the Delegation of Authority and/or approved budget.

Key Job Accountabilities
1. Ensure that the Contractor's mechanical equipment engineering for Topsides, Onshore Facilities (Offshore scope) Engineering designs comply with the Contract requirements, including project codes and standards.
2. Review and approve Contractor engineering deliverables for Mechanical equipment. Review and comment on other engineering discipline deliverables.
3. Plan and schedule the engineering deliverables to enable efficient project execution, ensuring technical alignment and compliance with QatarEnergy LNG operational policies, standards of business conduct and project management system.
4. Participate in key design workshop and ensure that recommendation are correctly implemented and actions closed (3D model review, Lessons Learned, Value Engineering, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, engineering criticality assessment, etc.).
5. Support NFE Offshore Engineering Manager in monitoring the contractor's progress on delivery of the required Static Equipment documents for Topsides and Pipeline disciplines.
6. Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts with respective disciplines involved in delivery of the mechanical equipment, and ensures endorsement of Technical deviations to Company specifications when required.
7. Supervise and manage Engineering interface for mechanical equipment for Topsides, Onshore Facilities (Offshore scope) with the following teams: Operations, the pipelines from the
topsides perspective, the Onshore Project Team.
Part B: Person Specification- Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Sciences or Engineering.
Knowledge and/or Experience
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience as Mechanical Engineer in a major project environment within the oil and gas industry and having a broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, offshore facilities design, construction and operations.
Technical and Business Skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interact within a PMT.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in multi-disciplinary, multicultural teams in offshore environments.
Excellent report writing and presentation skills
A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English
Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office applications and some technical applications
Good knowledge of mechanical equipment, piping, pipeline, structural, instrument, telecom, piping and electrical.
