SR. CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR
Qualification:
- B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university, or Diploma in Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering discipline or equivalent, plus relevant courses in Safety, Quality Control, and Construction.
Experience:
- Minimum 12 years of experience supervising the fabrication and offshore hook-up of oil and gas production or wellhead topside and jackets, including construction work and material inspection, review and approval of construction method statements, and load-out activities.
- Robust experience in FEED and EPIC projects, with strong capability to review and approve contractor deliverables.
- Computer literate with good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent command of English language (oral and written).
- Excellent knowledge of industry engineering standards, quality control, safety, and environmental awareness.
- Excellent ability to interpret and review method statements, inspection and test plans, construction schedules, and drawings.
- Ability to highlight potential bottlenecks or problems and suggest solutions.
- Ability to supervise a multinational and multicultural contractor workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible and accountable for the day-to-day construction and execution of structural, piping, and mechanical aspects of major redevelopment projects, ensuring they are constructed according to approved scope of work, drawings, engineering design, and safety, environment, and company standards and specifications.
- Act as an interface between the Assistant Manager, Construction, Asset Holder, Contractor, and Construction Supervisors. Provide guidance to ensure that all construction activities are executed in accordance with approved method statements, complying with project schedule, quality, and HSE requirements.
- Act as site representative to manage structural, piping, and mechanical scope in fabrication yards, offshore installation and hook-up barges, modifications workboats, etc., to monitor, control, and report project progress.
- Focus on mechanical, structural, and piping with proven previous experience as a client representative.
- Participate in engineering workshops during FEED and EPIC.
- Participate in onshore fabrication activities and offshore hook-up campaigns as company representative for managing the disciplines mentioned above.
- Manage and guide the contractor during engineering, review, comment, and approve contractor deliverables.
- Attend engineering workshops such as constructability review, SIMOPS, schedule risk analysis, 3D model reviews, HAZOP, HAZDEM, and lifting plan reviews, providing inputs to ensure compliance with company requirements.
- Ensure the contractor executes fabrication, mechanical completion, load-out, etc. in onshore and hook-up and modifications offshore in accordance with company requirements.
- Monitor, control, and report contractor's performance, manpower deployment, equipment movements, and construction slippages.
- Act as the construction risk management representative, proposing mitigation measures and ensuring implementation on site.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly construction progress reports and verify contractor's progress statements.
- Liaise with senior discipline engineers throughout all project phases for construction-related matters.
- Coordinate walk-throughs, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities with contractors, vendors, and end users.
- Maintain daily progress records, reporting work anomalies or contractual deviations, and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor and control work permits to ensure contractor compliance.
- Coordinate mobilisation and demobilisation of contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors following contract award.
- Interact and interface regularly with other contractors, projects, and departments to identify and resolve all construction-related matters, especially liaising with production and maintenance departments.
- Participate in weekly and monthly HSE walkthroughs and audits.
- Support the development of new company standards, specifications, guidelines, and assist with the enhancement of existing corporate documents.
