Job Title: Solar Technician / Engineer

Job Summary:

  • Responsible for installation, troubleshooting, and repair of solar energy systems

  • Work on various components of solar systems, including photovoltaic (PV) panels, inverters, batteries, and wiring to ensure optimal performance and efficiency

Key Responsibilities:

Installation:

  • Install solar PV systems on residential, commercial, and industrial properties

  • Mount and secure solar panels, ensuring proper alignment and optimal sun exposure

  • Connect electrical wiring and system components, including inverters, batteries, and monitoring equipment

  • Perform system testing and commissioning to verify correct installation and functionality

Troubleshooting:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with solar systems, including performance problems, electrical faults, and component failures

  • Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and address system malfunctions

Repair and Maintenance:

  • Repair or replace faulty components such as panels, inverters, wiring, and mounting systems

  • Conduct routine maintenance to ensure system reliability and longevity across Middle East and Africa

  • Clean and inspect solar panels and other components to maintain optimal performance

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities

  • Prepare reports on system performance, issues identified, and repairs completed

  • Communicate with customers to provide updates and explain technical information clearly

Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations during installation, maintenance, and repair activities

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Technical certification or associate degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related field

Experience:

  • Proven experience in installing, troubleshooting, and repairing solar PV systems

  • Knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and components

Skills:

  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics

  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and software

  • Good communication and customer service skills

Licenses:

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Working Conditions:

Environment:

  • Work across Middle East and Africa

  • Outdoor work on rooftops, ground-mounted systems, and various site locations

  • Exposure to varying weather conditions

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials

  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces

Schedule:

  • May require flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet project deadlines and customer needs
