Solar Construction Project Manager

Overview
An established renewable energy developer is seeking a Solar Construction Project Manager to lead the delivery of large-scale solar projects in the Philippines. The role involves overseeing design preparation, construction management, QA/QC/HSSE compliance, punch-listing, and commissioning activities across multiple engineering disciplines simultaneously.
You will work closely with internal teams, EPC contractors, consultants, utilities, and regulatory authorities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and in line with quality and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
HSSE and Quality Management

Monitor site safety compliance in coordination with the site HSE Manager, including PPE usage, tool-box talks, and safety drills

Ensure implementation of quality management principles, project ITPs, and expediting policies

Conduct periodic inspections and coordinate with third-party firms as needed to maintain safety and quality standards
Project Planning and Execution

Lead strategy development and implementation for solar projects

Develop and manage project schedules to ensure timely completion

Manage project budgets to meet financial objectives

Identify risks and implement solutions to mitigate construction challenges

Review and manage EPC Contractor schedules, budgets, scope, subcontractors, and EHS plans
Stakeholder and Contract Management

Coordinate with EPC contractors, Owner’s Engineers, equipment vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure contractual deliverables are met

Conduct project status meetings with utilities, EPCs, and stakeholders, providing detailed project plans and high-level dashboards

Manage contract changes and maintain records of approvals and modifications

Oversee permitting and regulatory compliance, liaising with LGUs and other relevant agencies
Team Leadership and Development

Lead, mentor, and supervise project teams and junior staff

Assign responsibilities to ensure successful project delivery

Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and technical excellence
Requirements

Degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering

Minimum 10 years of experience as Project Engineer or Project Manager on solar or renewable energy projects

Strong skills in construction management, contract management, QA/QC, and HSSE

Proficiency in construction monitoring software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, PERT/CPM)

EPC or Owner’s Engineer experience on solar projects advantageous

Knowledgeable on renewable energy systems and project delivery standards
