Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Construction Coordinator (SMP) to join a major industrial project in Western Australia. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with a strong background in onshore construction who thrives in fast-paced project environments.

You will play a key role in coordinating construction engineering activities, ensuring safe, high-quality, and efficient project delivery while maintaining strong collaboration between site and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines across design, fabrication, and execution phases
  • Review engineering deliverables to ensure constructability
  • Support development of execution strategies and project delivery plans
  • Assist in preparing cost estimates and project schedules
  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders on technical matters
  • Monitor fabrication progress and ensure timely delivery to site
  • Contribute to constructability reviews and identify potential issues
  • Support procurement and subcontracting activities
  • Prepare and review construction work packs and fabrication documentation
  • Track progress and provide reporting to project stakeholders
  • Assist with change management processes and site-driven design updates
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or a relevant trade qualification
  • Strong experience in onshore plant construction projects
  • Proven background in brownfield project environments
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cost and schedule effectively
  • Experience working on large-scale industrial or energy projects
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in project planning tools (P6 advantageous)
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in construction or engineering within industrial, energy, or process environments
  • Prior experience in construction engineering roles is highly desirable

Working Pattern

  • FIFO 2:1 roster
  • 10.5-hour working days plus unpaid break
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as required
