Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Construction Coordinator (SMP) to join a major industrial project in Western Australia. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with a strong background in onshore construction who thrives in fast-paced project environments.
You will play a key role in coordinating construction engineering activities, ensuring safe, high-quality, and efficient project delivery while maintaining strong collaboration between site and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with engineering disciplines across design, fabrication, and execution phases
- Review engineering deliverables to ensure constructability
- Support development of execution strategies and project delivery plans
- Assist in preparing cost estimates and project schedules
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders on technical matters
- Monitor fabrication progress and ensure timely delivery to site
- Contribute to constructability reviews and identify potential issues
- Support procurement and subcontracting activities
- Prepare and review construction work packs and fabrication documentation
- Track progress and provide reporting to project stakeholders
- Assist with change management processes and site-driven design updates
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements
Requirements
- Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or a relevant trade qualification
- Strong experience in onshore plant construction projects
- Proven background in brownfield project environments
- Demonstrated ability to manage cost and schedule effectively
- Experience working on large-scale industrial or energy projects
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in project planning tools (P6 advantageous)
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in construction or engineering within industrial, energy, or process environments
- Prior experience in construction engineering roles is highly desirable
Working Pattern
- FIFO 2:1 roster
- 10.5-hour working days plus unpaid break
- Flexibility to work extended hours as required
