Site Instrument Engineer – Permanent – Hampshire
We are seeking an experienced Site Instrument Engineer to join a major international operator at their flagship facility in Hampshire, delivering cutting-edge work across the Oil & Gas, Hydrogen, and Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) sectors.
This is an opportunity to join a high-performing site engineering team supporting the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of process systems across a major production facility. You will take a lead role in both day-to-day plant support and key capital improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design, optimisation, and maintenance of process control and safety instrumented systems (SIS)

Work closely with Engineering to execute tasks that reduce project backlog and drive operational improvements

Identify plant upgrade opportunities and prepare comprehensive scopes, budgets, and implementation timelines

Design and implement safety systems and instrument upgrades as part of capital projects

Take full responsibility for SIS and control system specifications, testing, and commissioning

Deliver and maintain key technical documentation including SIL verification, SIL reports, and Safety Requirement Specifications
Candidate Requirements:

Strong background in the oil and gas or heavy process industries, ideally with on-site operational exposure

Proven experience in instrumentation, process control, and safety systems engineering

Minimum HNC qualification in Instrumentation, Electrical, or relevant Engineering discipline (Degree preferred)

Familiarity with standards such as IEC 61511 and experience with SIL determination and verification
