Job Title: Site Engineer – Operations

The Opportunity
Join a respected construction group delivering complex, fast-paced projects across Ireland, the UK, and Northern Europe. As a Site Engineer, you will support the delivery of technically demanding builds where precision, safety, and quality are paramount. This role suits someone with a strong engineering foundation and a hands-on approach to achieving on-time, compliant project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager and Senior Engineer with key site engineering tasks including RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, workshops, and coordination.

  • Implement and monitor site quality controls in alignment with the project’s BC(A)R compliance plan.

  • Review short-term programmes to ensure all drawings, permits, and resources are secured for timely execution.

  • Assist in achieving project targets for programme, budget, and quality.

  • Identify design or information gaps and drive prompt resolution with site and design teams.

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with site management, subcontractors, and suppliers.

  • Perform accurate setting out, surveying, and level checks; support temporary works coordination under supervision.

  • Maintain thorough site documentation including inspections, test records, daily diaries, and as-built data.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Civil or Construction Engineering (or related discipline).

  • Solid understanding of construction techniques and proven experience in setting out, surveying, and levelling.

  • Awareness of temporary works principles and safe site practices.

  • Strong numeracy, organisation, and technical documentation skills.

  • Familiarity with project planning and short-interval programming.

  • Confident decision-maker with the ability to escalate appropriately.

  • Proficient in MS Office and familiar with scheduling tools such as MS Project.

  • Exposure to common CDE platforms (Common Data Environments) advantageous.
