Job Title: Shutdown Planner (Offshore)

Overview:
An established offshore operator is seeking a Shutdown Planner to manage, schedule, and track offshore shutdown activities. The role is responsible for ensuring that all shutdown tasks are executed safely, efficiently, and within the allocated time and budget, while coordinating workforce, equipment, materials, and logistics.

Role Summary:
The Shutdown Planner will develop and maintain detailed shutdown schedules and work plans, integrating major project modifications and coordinating minor project activities. This is an office-based role with frequent offshore visits prior to, during, and after shutdowns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a detailed shutdown activity list to ensure plans meet operational objectives and compliance requirements.

  • Record and maintain SD Work Orders and associated codes, priorities, and settlement rules in SAP and scheduling software.

  • Prepare integrated schedules in Primavera P6 using detailed work packs and develop Work Breakdown Structures.

  • Perform quality checks on schedules, ensuring adherence to planning and scheduling best practices.

  • Analyse schedules, monitor work progress, identify risks, and recommend optimisation opportunities.

  • Participate in clash analysis and density checks, providing options and recommendations for schedule adjustments.

  • Integrate maintenance, expansion, and project shutdown opportunities to minimise downtime and improve efficiency.

  • Ensure resource loading aligns with offshore personnel limitations, and prepare workforce and cost estimations.

  • Verify all shutdown procedures are available and reviewed before each shutdown period.

  • Prepare comprehensive shutdown reports including management updates, deviation reports, critical path analysis, progress versus baseline, and S-Curves.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Higher National Diploma (HND) in Engineering.

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience as a Technical Planner and Scheduler in offshore oil and gas or petrochemical operations.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with Primavera P6 and scheduling best practices.

  • Experience in planning, preparation, and execution of offshore shutdowns.

  • Strong knowledge of maintenance, production, and materials management in offshore operations.
