Job Title: Shutdown Coordinator

Overview:
An experienced Shutdown Coordinator is required to support a major onshore oil and gas operation. The role focuses on planning, coordinating, and executing all shutdown-related activities across the assigned operational area, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule compliance. This position is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and experience managing complex shutdowns in a multi-stakeholder environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate all phases of shutdown activities with stakeholders to define work scope, resources, and manpower requirements to build detailed shutdown plans.

Support maintenance contracting strategies through site walks, scope clarification, and coordination between contractors and internal teams.

Monitor and track shutdown schedules, providing progress updates and supporting planners with accurate completion forecasts.

Develop and review work packs, ensuring all documentation and procedures are complete and accurate prior to execution.

Participate in risk-based work selection and simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) reviews.

Assist in resource planning, crane mapping, and spare part identification for assigned areas.

Enforce safety procedures and ensure that all work is carried out under approved permits and in accordance with safety and quality standards.

Supervise and monitor field execution, ensuring compliance with scope, schedule, and quality requirements.

Oversee pre- and post-shutdown mobilisation, including material management, demobilisation, and close-out reporting.

Liaise with internal departments and external contractors to ensure seamless coordination and communication throughout shutdown execution.
Qualifications and Experience:

Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent qualification in Engineering.

Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry, preferably with exposure to onshore facilities.

Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures related to utilities and process systems in hydrocarbon plants.

Proficiency in maintenance management systems such as SAP (PM and MM modules).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
