SHES Specialist – Onshore Pipelines
Location: Primarily Qatar Onshore (90%), occasional Offshore (10%)
Contract Duration: 36 months, from August 2025 to 2028
Work Schedule: 10 hours/day, 6 days/week, 26 days/month

Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced SHES (Safety, Health, Environment, and Security) Specialist to support the safe execution of onshore pipeline construction activities. You will ensure regulatory and project compliance, provide coaching and monitoring across contractors, and drive safety performance during installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide oversight and guidance on SHES compliance throughout the onshore pipeline project lifecycle.

Monitor and report contractor SHES performance against KPIs and support improvement initiatives.

Conduct routine inspections, risk assessments, and audits using established tools and protocols.

Participate in incident investigations and support root cause analysis and reporting.

Champion behavioural safety programmes and support implementation of life-saving rules.

Liaise closely with contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to support a collaborative safety culture.

Coordinate the delivery of SHES training and on-the-job coaching for contractor personnel.

Ensure compliance with national regulations, international standards, and project-specific SHES procedures.

Maintain accurate documentation including inspection records, permit-to-work reviews, and incident logs.

Support continuous improvement through trend analysis, lessons learned, and recommendations to management.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, safety, or related field
OR -
NEBOSH Diploma (International or National), NVQ Level 5 in SHES, or equivalent recognised diploma
Required Experience:

Minimum 8 years of SHES experience in large-scale oil & gas or pipeline construction projects

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Experience with SHES risk assessments, inspections, audits, and compliance reviews

Familiarity with SHES systems and behavioural safety programmes

Experience in a multicultural and multilingual project environment is preferred
