Job Title: SHES Specialist

Location: Doha, Qatar

 

Job Purpose:

To support the SHES Lead in the implementation, verification, and continual improvement of the NFS Onshore EPC SHES Plans and Procedures. The role provides field oversight and guidance to EPC Contractors and Subcontractors to ensure alignment with LNG and RLC SHES requirements throughout project execution.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support SHES Implementation: Assist in the deployment of SHES requirements across EPC packages in compliance with NFS Onshore and RLC regulations.
  • Field Oversight: Monitor EPC Contractor and Subcontractor SHES compliance on-site and support the induction and onboarding of SHES personnel.
  • Engagement and Leadership: Actively attend Toolbox Talks (TBT) and Task Instructions (TI) to reinforce safety messaging and provide coaching.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Support reviews of SHES Plans & Procedures and ensure regulatory compliance with local authorities and LNG standards.
  • Competency and Performance Review:
  • Monitor SHES personnel performance and promote their development through mentoring.
  • Promote Safety Culture: Contribute to the Incident and Injury-Free (IIF) program and Observation & Intervention campaigns.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Interface with PMT, EPC Contractors, Subcontractors, RLC, and other entities as required for SHES collaboration.
  • Visible Leadership: Maintain a strong on-site presence to lead by example and support a proactive SHES culture throughout project phases, including SIMOPS.
  • Participation in Reviews and Investigations: Attend safety meetings, audits, pre-startup reviews, and assist with incident investigations and SHES assessments.
  • Action Tracking: Follow up on outstanding SHES corrective actions, ensuring timely closure in alignment with project requirements.

 

Qualifications (Any of the following):

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Safety, Health, Environment, or Sciences
  • NEBOSH National/International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
  • SHES-related NVQ Level 5
  • British Safety Council Level 6 Diploma

     

Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent discipline.
  • Previous involvement in large-scale Oil & Gas EPC projects is required.
  • Solid knowledge of SHES programs and execution frameworks in a major project environment.

  • Competent in Microsoft Office and standard project tools.
