Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Rigless Wellwork Engineer to lead the planning and execution of rigless well interventions across both production and injection wells. This role is critical to maximizing well uptime, minimizing downtime, and delivering safe, efficient wellwork operations while upholding the highest standards of safety, environmental care, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Lead the development of the Annual Rigless Wellwork Plan in coordination with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Projects, and external service providers.
- Adapt and optimize wellwork plans based on operational needs, field performance, and stakeholder feedback.
- Prepare comprehensive job programs and ensure all technical resources are aligned for smooth and timely execution.
Operational Leadership
- Manage all aspects of rigless wellwork operations, ensuring all activities meet safety and performance standards.
- Conduct pre-job planning and post-job reviews to drive continuous improvement and apply learnings to future interventions.
- Oversee operations involving high pressure, high temperature (HPHT), and toxic gas wells with a strong commitment to personnel safety and regulatory compliance.
Contract & Cost Management
- Coordinate with the supply chain and contracts team to ensure timely availability of wellwork services and tools.
- Monitor contract performance, validate invoices, and ensure wellwork costs remain within budget forecasts.
- Establish contract administration protocols including performance reviews and guarantee management.
Technical Standards & Innovation
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive Standard Well Intervention Manual to align with international and company best practices.
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance intervention efficiency and well integrity.
- Conduct engineering studies and feasibility assessments for new tools or methods related to wellwork.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Support new developments and greenfield projects by ensuring well intervention designs are integrated into early project phases.
- Liaise with internal engineering and operations teams to ensure alignment across asset integrity, production goals, and safety requirements.
Requirements
Education & Certification
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Petroleum, Mechanical, or related disciplines.
- Valid IWCF Level-4 certification (Supervisor Level).
Experience
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in the oil and gas industry with a strong focus on wellwork operations.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in rigless wellwork, with a solid background in offshore and/or onshore environments.
- Experience working with HPHT and sour gas wells is highly desirable.
Technical Proficiency
- In-depth understanding of wellhead systems, subsurface tools, production logging, well integrity, tubular design, and pressure control equipment.
- Familiarity with digital tools for subsurface monitoring and data acquisition.
- Sound knowledge of well integrity principles, barrier philosophies, and routine testing/maintenance of critical well safety components.
