Senior Structural Designer
Location: Qatar
Assignment duration: Short-term contract (6 months)
Working model: Onshore and offshore assignments
An established engineering organisation supporting major energy projects in the Middle East is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Designer for a short-term assignment in Qatar. This role will support FEED-stage project delivery and requires strong hands-on structural design capability, including 3D modelling, across both onshore and offshore environments.
This opportunity is suited to a senior-level designer who can mobilise quickly and contribute effectively within a fast-paced project team.
Role overview
You will be responsible for delivering civil and structural design outputs during the FEED phase, working closely with engineers and other disciplines to ensure designs are accurate, constructible and aligned with project requirements.
Key responsibilities

Produce civil and structural design deliverables for FEED-stage projects

Develop and manage 2D drawings and 3D models for onshore and offshore facilities

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve design interfaces

Apply relevant engineering standards, specifications and best practice

Ensure design quality, consistency and compliance across all deliverables

Support timely delivery of design packages to agreed schedules
Required qualifications and experience

Diploma in Engineering or equivalent

Minimum 10 years of experience as a senior structural designer

Proven experience working on both onshore and offshore projects

Strong experience supporting FEED engineering projects

Demonstrated capability in 2D and 3D structural design activities

Good understanding of civil and structural design standards and practices
Preferred software skills

Strong experience using civil and structural 2D and 3D design tools

Experience with tools such as Hexagon SP3D, Aveva E3D, Bentley AutoPlant, PDMS, PDS, Tekla, AutoCAD and MicroStation

Aveva E3D experience is essential
