Job Title: Senior Schedule Engineer
Location: Lulea, Sweden
Assignment Type: Annually Renewable Contract
Work Schedule: 4 weeks on site, 1 week remote (rotation), 5 days per week, 8 hours per day

Overview:
Join a leading international player in consulting, engineering, and architecture services, embarking on the construction of an innovative plant in Northern Sweden dedicated to Green Steel production-a process that emits up to 95% less CO₂ compared to conventional steel production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Integrate, manage, and optimize project schedules to ensure alignment with project objectives and seamless integration with engineering and procurement plans.
- Coordinate with supervisors and construction managers to synchronize field activities, identifying and resolving schedule deviations early.
- Implement advanced planning and sequencing strategies to maximize project efficiency, diminish discipline interferences, and enhance on-site resource allocation.
- Establish monitoring and control systems for physical progress tracking to enable data-driven decision-making.
- Perform schedule updates, incorporate actual progress data, evaluate change impacts, and analyze recovery scenarios where necessary.
- Generate and interpret progress curve analyses, segmented by areas, disciplines, and work packages.
- Identify scheduling risks and devise effective contingency and recovery plans.
Requirements and Skills:
General Requirements:
- 4-5 years' experience in project planning and scheduling within EPC/EPCM environments (including mining, energy, oil & gas, and infrastructure).
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (mandatory), with a strong command of MS Project and reporting tools such as Power BI; familiarity with SAP, EcoSys, or Deltek Cobra is advantageous.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on large projects, organizing master schedules, lookaheads, progress curves, and resource histograms.
- Ability to develop and maintain integrated schedules (engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning) using CPM, EVM, and Lean Construction methodologies.
Technical Skills:
Project Scheduling & Planning
- Expertise in Primavera P6, with capabilities including:
- Creating and maintaining comprehensive project schedules.
- Developing detailed timelines across permitting, engineering, procurement, construction, and start-up phases.
- Preparing package-specific schedules for procurement and bidding.
- Maintaining discipline-level schedules in sync with the overall project program.
- Developing WBS structures, defining activities, estimating durations, and establishing critical dependencies.
Project Monitoring & Control
- Experience in monitoring and progress tracking:
- Identifying and overseeing critical path activities.
- Performing Earned Hours (HH) analyses (planned vs. earned vs. forecasted).
- Producing critical path reports and other schedule performance metrics.
- Conducting impact assessments to determine delays, risks, and potential recovery options.
- Collaborating with cost engineering and project teams for integrated planning.
Progress Reporting & Data Visualization
- Preparation of weekly and monthly progress reports summarizing key performance indicators (KPI).
- Development of S-curves at project and WBS Level 2 for detailed progress analysis.
- Identification of early and late curves using Primavera P6.
- Proficiency with Power BI for real-time construction progress and schedule reporting.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities to address and resolve scheduling challenges.
- Active participation in risk workshops, schedule reviews, and progress meetings.
Languages:
- Fluent English (Intermediate-Advanced) for reporting, meetings, and technical communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with outage planning or startup sequencing.
- Background in mechanical trades or maintenance planning.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices related to project scheduling.
