Job Title: Senior Safety Officer

Location: Doha & Ras Laffan, Qatar

Type: Two-year contract with possibility of extension

Working Schedule: 8-10 hours per day, 5 days per week

Estimated Start Date: ASAP

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Safety Officer to ensure the implementation of safety, environmental, and quality programs across onshore facilities. The role focuses on maintaining a safe and compliant work environment for all personnel, supporting operations, engineering, and project activities while ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and plan activities of HSEQ personnel to deliver approved safety, environmental, and quality programs.
  • Develop, recommend, and conduct training programs on safety principles and practices.
  • Ensure HSEQ equipment and facilities are maintained and fully operational through preventive maintenance programs.
  • Implement and monitor the Permit to Work (PTW) system, including hot work and vessel entry procedures.
  • Provide guidance in incident investigations and participate in reviewing and analysing safety statistics.
  • Inspect new project construction and installation work to ensure contractor compliance with HSEQ standards.
  • Ensure adequate stocks of HSEQ and emergency equipment, as well as personal protective equipment, are available at all times.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related discipline.
  • Strong construction / commissioning experience (in oil and gas sector) offshore & onshore experience of around 8-10 yrs.
  • Knowledge of HSEQ standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong computer literacy and proficiency in relevant software applications.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to supervise, mentor, and coach team members.
  • Strong understanding of SHE principles and commitment to workplace safety.

Additional Information

  • Candidates must be willing to work on-site in Qatar.
  • Travel and relocation support provided as per project policy.
